Alex + Pete | A Classic Spring West Chester Wedding
Alex + Pete. Where do I even start with these two? I knew Alex from when we were younger and took dance together, her mom was also my gym teacher in elementary school!, so when she inquired with me a few years ago I was SO excited to reconnect and be a part of her West Chester wedding. I met her + Pete for a consult and knew it was meant to be when they wanted to shoot their engagement session at Longwood Gardens. When I think of Pete I think of how he looks at Alex. He truly looks at her as if she’s the only person in the room and together they fit SO well so it’s no surprise that their Longwood Gardens engagement session (view that here!) from last spring is one of my favorites to date. They are so comfortable + sweet together - Alex has the best laugh and Pete makes her laugh nonstop! - and it’s so completely evident how in love they are and how happy they are together.
The morning of their wedding I met with Alex first who was so calm and relaxed. When I met with Pete he was pretty quiet, focused.. And when I asked if he was nervous, since he’s normally outgoing, he said, “I think it really just hit me, I’m getting married!!!”. Alex gave him a handwritten book complete with every reason she wanted to marry him and every sentimental date in their relationship. When Pete cried during opening his gift (can we talk about how sweet?!) I knew his reaction to her walking down the aisle would be even better.
Their entire wedding day it rained.. Except for right as we arrived to their venue, Penn Oaks Golf Club, to shoot portraits. What was left in its wake was the dreamiest fog that created the best backdrop and really made the lush greenery + dusty blue bridesmaid dresses pop! Some of my favorite details from their day included her gorgeous bouquets that were each wrapped with ribbon adorned with a line of their first dance written in calligraphy, Pete’s reaction to first seeing Alex, their first dance and lastly their best friends’ maid of honor + best man speeches before dinner. I can’t say enough good things about Alex + Pete. At one point I told Pete how accommodating he was and he said something along the lines of “well, I consider you a friend now!” which is something I will always remember and truly speaks to their genuine + down-to-earth demeanor as a couple. Enjoy a few of my favorites from this beautiful spring wedding in West Chester a few weeks ago!
